On November 2, 2015, Harris County Sheriff's police arrested 19-year-old Adrian Garcia after they confiscated Alprazolam pills, an anti-anxiety medication commonly known as Xanax that requires a prescription.

On November 4, Garcia pled no contest in Harris County Criminal District Court to misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to 25 days in jail.

On November 10, 2015, Garcia was released after the Harris County District Attorney's Conviction Integrity Unit was informed that lab tests showed the pills were an over-the-counter sleep aid.

The prosecution informed Garcia's attorney and joined in a motion for new trial. On December 1, 2015, the motion was granted and the prosecution dismissed the charge.
